Words of Wisdom

"Healing doesn't mean the hard things never happened. It means you no longer have to carry them alone. My work is to walk beside you as you move from surviving toward peace."

About Terri Tyson

I am a dedicated counselor offering compassionate, personalized tele-therapy for people moving through grief, anxiety, depression, stress, and the harder seasons of life. With a focus on empathy and confidentiality, I provide a safe space to explore what you're feeling and work toward real, lasting change. Every session is tailored to you — because your story, and your healing, are your own.

Counseling That Meets You Where You Are

Whether you're grieving a loss, facing a season of change you didn't choose, or simply feeling like you've lost your footing — you've come to the right place.

This is a space where you don't need to arrive with the right answers. You only need to be willing to take one step forward.

When the Ground Shifts Beneath You

Grief and loss don't follow a schedule, and life transitions rarely wait until you're ready. I help people find their footing again — without pressure, without judgment, and at a pace that's right for them.

You Don't Have to Do This Alone

With 18 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, ordained minister, and hospital chaplain, and as someone who has walked through her own seasons of loss and change, I understand both the clinical and the deeply human side of healing.

For Anyone Facing a Hard Season

Grief, stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or life transitions. Whatever is weighing you down, I offer a compassionate, faith-informed space to process, heal, and move forward.

"I have walked this path personally. I have a transgender daughter, and I am still on this journey — which means I will never speak to you from a place of having all the answers. I'll speak to you as someone who understands the terrain."

My Story

Healing Is Not a Straight Line. And You Don't Have to Walk It Alone

I know what it's like to face a season that upends everything you thought you understood about your life.

Loss, in all its forms - a death, a diagnosis, a divorce, a identity shift, a dream that didn't happen the way you planned - can leave you feeling like the ground you stood on is gone.

I work with people who are trying to figure out how to keep moving, how to keep loving the people around them, and how to become whole again even when nothing feels certain.

This is not about rushing your healing or telling you how to feel. It is not about shame, pressure, or pretending you're fine before you are. My work is about helping you navigate this - at your own pace, on your own terms.

"I came to the place of wanting to address unresolved grief because of the deep loss I felt losing my great-grandmother who raised me.  I have since also lost two fathers and have witnessed first-hand my mother's suffering those losses."

The Master Class

Free 30-minute introduction to my 8-week program

The image of the lighthouse represents hope and guidance—finding your way through the darkness, just as you can find your way through grief. I cover three things in this 30-minute Master Class.

First, we'll tackle white-knuckling through grief - that white-knuckle grip people get when they're trying to hold it together. I'll show you how to actually heal in eight weeks without needing endless therapy sessions, and it works even if the people around you don't understand what you're going through.

Second, we'll dig into why the pain keeps hitting you in waves. Most people don't understand this, but there's a real reason it happens. The good news? You can turn this around starting today, whether you've been grieving for months or years.

Third, I'll introduce a completely different approach to grief support. Traditional grief groups aren't cutting it. In fact, they might be holding you back. I've found a method that works 10 times faster, and I'm excited to share it with you.

By the end of this, you'll have concrete tools you can use immediately, you can book a call and start the eight-week program.
